Happy New Year
New year new me, lol. Really never been the type to make new year's resolutions,  but this year I've gone through the stress of laying out a couple of resolutions for myself, part of which is writing this blog. I've been putting off starting this blog for so long, I've literally written two first posts asides this one. It's ridiculous, I've been trying to get the perfect post to start with, a post that'll get my readers captivated and wanting to come back for more. Still don’t think this is that perfect post but heck, I'm taking the plunge anyways.

My boss just shared a post of an interview with Tai Sholarin where he prayed for everyone to have a rough road. He believes life is a mix of both good and bad and that most times, we have to go through rough patches in other to get to that blissful side. He emphasized  how most times the difference between successful people and the other guys is the amount and degree of risks they take. So basically the more risks we take the more likely we are to succeed but then the more likely we are to face tougher struggles. So this year one of my resolutions is to take as many risks as possible. If you're reading this post, I advise you to do the same, cause the truth is, you really have nothing to lose. Like they usually say, you only regret the things you didn’t do. So take that risk today, no matter how scary.
How to take risk: Usually we're advised to take calculated risks. This is smart, cause we really can't take stupid risks and expect our lives to be better off, but the question is how do you know that a risk is calculated enough? For me, I just decide whether it is worth it. That means even if I fail I'll have no regrets cause I know I tried, I got to learn something new and have a new experience. This was how I got my girlfriend.  Everyone told me the relationship won't work out and that I shouldn’t bother going after her otherwise I'd end up heartbroken, but I knew I truly wanted her and that if at all I didn’t get to spend the rest of my life with her, the thrill of trying to make her mine would be one I'd cherish for life. Luckily she agreed to be my girl and I can tell you she's one of the best things that ever happened to me.

What risks have you always wanted to take? You want to quit your job? Start your business? Get a girl? This year, I urge you to shoot your shot, cause life is too short not to try. Like this blog, just do it and I promise, you'll be better off.
